Saturday (20/01/2024) The younger students were seen having fun hanging out in the coffee shop while playing games, which was monitored by the media crew at the coffee shop.
This phenomenon did not only happen once, but has happened many times, on Thursday 18 January 2024.
Students who should be in school seem to prefer spending hours in coffee shops rather than studying at school.
This is a serious concern, considering the negative impact on students’ education.
The shopkeeper on Jalan Merdeka revealed that they had tried to forbid students from entering the coffee shop.
However, these efforts appear to be ineffective. “We have banned them, but they still come in,” said a worker who did not want to be named.
As a generation of the nation, special attention is needed from the Batu Bara Government, especially the Education Department, to respond to this problem.
Preventive measures and guidance on the behavior of young people need to be the focus, so that they can again prioritize their education above activities outside of school.
